Growing up in Alaska

... the Hollywood connection and a birthday website

Mary & Mike

Life in the Last Frontier

Mary and I both grew up in Alaska, a wonderful place known for it's beauty and adventure.

Besides living in Anchorage and the Kenai area of Alaska, I also lived in Wasilla (named after Chief Wasilla).

We actually met while I was hosting a teen dance program called "The Varsity Show" for the CBS television affiliate KTVA in Anchorage. Mary was a staff dancer on the show and boy can she dance.

Moving ahead some years, we were married and our family grew with the addition of our two children (both were born in Alaska), daughter Nikki and Son Christopher, who are now grown and each have a child of their own.

The Hollywood Connection

My career in television eventually took Mary and I to Hollywood, California where I worked in both television and motion picture production as a writer, producer and director. Mary became a background actress for television series and movies - I'm sure you've seen her many times on your favorite shows.

Being Grandparents

Our daughter Nikki has a daughter named Amanda and our son Christopher has a daughter named Scarlett. Of course this makes Mary and I grandparents - a title we love very much.

The Birthday Party Connection

We've put together lots and lots of fun birthday parties for our children and grandchildren as well as special family gatherings and events.

We really enjoy putting together creative birthday parties, so we started thinking about how we could share all the fun with others.

Mary and I are both creative, but Mary is known for her super ability to organize anything - from our home life to putting together those special family events and birthday parties.

The Internet Connection

My background in film and television eventually led me to become a Hollywood screenwriter. I wrote and sold 3 family adventure screenplays, and then "The Long Ride Home", a family western starring Randy Travis, Ernest Borgnine and Stella Stevens was produced based on my short script - although I didn't receive on-screen credit.

Because I was writing screenplays, I used a computer and script writing software. But I didn't know anything about the internet, and I sure didn't know anything about putting together a website.

But one day it occurred to me that a website about how to put together birthday parties for kids might be an excellent way to share our knowledge and passion.

Great Idea - But How?

OK, I didn't know anything about putting together a website, and Mary didn't either.

So I did what any screenwriter does when they need to know something - I went online and started doing some research.

The result? Confusion!

There's A Lot Of Noise Out There

The internet is just way full of information and noise about website hosts and techie talk that I didn't understand.

I was on - misinformation overload - ugh.

"Danger Will Robinson"

Remember the TV series "Lost in Space" when the robot used to say "danger Will Robinson" to the young boy just as he was about to be attacked by that week's space monster?

I read so much stuff online that I'm sure my eyes turned into the same shape as my computer screen. My brain began to turn to mush - and I was sure I heard the robot say "danger Mike."

Then One Day It Happened

While surfing the web, I literally stumbled on a service called Site Build It (SBI).

As I read a little about SBI, I noticed something interesting. They sounded sincere, they sounded like they really cared about helping me be a success online.

The strain began to leave my computer screen weary eyes, my brain began to think clearly - but I was cautious - I wanted to know more.

There's A Real Person Behind All This

I quickly discovered that Site Build It was put together by a guy named Ken Evoy who is a retired surgeon.

But after reading about an endless parade of so-called internet "gurus", I decided to do a little more research.

A Great Reputation

Even all the internet gurus have great things to say about Ken Evoy and his Site Build It service.

And guess what - I discovered lots of people just like Mary and I that didn't know a thing about the internet either - but they now have successful SBI websites - read on.

"A wholehearted "Thank You" to SBI!. Perhaps it seems weird to thank a computer program, but Site Build It! is not some technically run corporate group with invisible leaders. It's really a down to earth company run by a fatherly CEO, bringing a global family of like-minded people together in success and freedom."

Success And Freedom

Did you read what Michelle Schill of style-hair-magazine.com wrote about SBI - if not, read the paragraph just above this, because it's one of those "oh wow" kind of statements.

Success and freedom are 2 things that most people want.

You Can Do Nothing - Or?

Mary and I decided that we could spend a lot more time looking for a way to build our birthday party site, or we could give Site Build It a try.

We almost didn't do it - but SBI offers a guarantee that is second to none - we couldn't lose.

We're Here To Stay

You're reading our story because we built our website with Site Build It - and we couldn't be happier.

Fun Kid Birthday Parties

Mary and I launched Fun Kid Birthday Parties.com and our lives haven't been the same since.

Because we now have a successful online business.

    And Here's More Good News

With SBI they provide everything you need to build your own website and be successful on the internet. They even show you how to make some cash with your site.

So even though you'll find lots of free information on this site, SBI has shown us how to earn a profit with affiliate programs and Google ads.
