I checked with Grandma Mary on this one and she suggested the following:

Musical Cookie Walk

Cut some circle shapes (about 12 inches in diameter) and draw a picture of a cookie on one shape. The rest of the circles can be various colors.

Now put the circles in a circle so the little ones can walk around them like musical chairs.

Start your music and when you stop the music, the child on the circle with a cookie, gets a real cookie as a prize.

Fun Balloon Toss

Blow up a bunch of balloons and let the little ones toss them around.

Balloon Rockets

Have the adults blow up balloons, keeping the end pinched off. Now let the little ones "launch" the balloons. This always makes the kids laugh as they watch the balloons fly all over the place.

Quiet Activities

To calm things down, get a couple of short books to read out loud.
