Homemade Play dough Recipe

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/2 cup of salt
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Just mix all these ingredients together in a cooking pot and set over a medium heat while stirring constantly until the mixture becomes a ball. This should only take a few minutes.

Then remove from the stove and place the ball on the counter and begin kneading the ball. (Be careful, the ball will be warm from the stove).

Knead for 1 to 2 minutes, then let it cool.

Add Color And A Fun Smell

For a fun smell the kids will love, after cooking your play dough, simply knead in a small package of Kool-Aid.

*You'll want to wear gloves or your hands will turn the color of the Kool-Aid.

**When your birthday child and their party guests play with this playdough, have them keep it on a dry surface. Don't let the play dough become wet.

*** If some playdough gets on your carpet, let it dry, then remove using a vacuum cleaner. Do not moisten the playdough.

Remember the hours of fun you had as a kid with your playdough? Well the magic of molding colorful dough into anything your imagination can think of is still totally fun for the younger set.

    What could be more fun?

Making your own to play with makes it even more special and more creative fun.
