Fun Homemade Playdough Recipe

Here's a great homemade playdough recipe that will be so much creative fun for your birthday child.

Now lets take this creative fun a step further --

Let your birthday child and their party guests help you make their own playdough.

This is an easy recipe that will give you long-lasting playdough that's easy to use and easy to clean up.

So if your ready for some creative fun, simply print out the following recipe.

Homemade Playdough Recipe

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/2 cup of salt
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Just mix all these ingredients together in a cooking pot and set over a medium heat while stiring constantly until the mixture becomes a ball. This should only take a few minutes.

Then remove from the stove and place the ball on the counter and begin kneading the ball. (Be careful, the ball will be warm from the stove).

Knead for 1 to 2 minutes, then let it cool.

Add Color And A Fun Smell

For a fun smell the kids will love, after cooking your playdough, simply knead in a small package of Kool-Aid.

*You'll want to wear gloves when adding the Kool-Aid or your hands will turn the color of the Kool-Aid.

**When your birthday child and their party guests play with this playdough, have them keep it on a dry surface. Don't let the playdough become wet.

*** If some playdough gets on your carpet, let it dry, then remove using a vacuum cleaner... Do not moisten the playdough.

    Gummy Molds

Here are some really fun Gummy Mold Kits that your birthday child will also enjoy.
