Hunting Birthday Party Ideas

by Stacie
(IL)

My son is interested in having a "hunting" Birthday party.

I was able to purchase camo supplies but I would like game and cake ideas. He will be 8.

Any hunting or outdoor ideas?

Note From Grandpa Mike

Stacie:

Sounds like your son's 8th birthday is going to be a lot of fun.

I found this cake idea for you. It's called Edible Cake Art and it's easy to put on any cake including a ready made cake from your favorite bakery. This Edible Cake Art is a picture of a deer.

For games you can play "Pin the Antlers on the Deer", just get a picture of a deer or trace one and cut out the antlers. Then draw your own antlers and make copies for all your guests.

Play "What am I" by getting a variety of pictures that are related to hunting. Put one picture on each child's back, then have each child ask questions that can only be answered "yes" or "no."

The first person who guesses what they are is the winner.

Try this silly version of "Stuff the Balloons."

Get two sets of "Hunting Clothes". Pants and a shirt (the bigger the better). Then put together two teams.

When the game starts, have one member of each team put on the Hunting Clothes, then have their team stuff as many inflated balloons in their clothing as they can.

Give them 2 minutes to get dressed and stuff balloons. The team with the most balloons in their clothing wins.

As an activity, have each guest put together their own "hunting lunch." You could get some jerky, trail mix, and what ever kind of sandwich fixens, plus some small candy bars and small bags of chips.

Then get some paper bags and let each guest put their "Hunting lunch" together.

I hope these are helpful and that your son has a really special Hunting Party.

Have FUN
