Kid Birthday Cakes Baking With Children

Kids love being creative and here's a great activity you and your child are sure to love. Kid birthday cakes baking with children will guide you through this fun adventure.

You and your child will have a really great time together with this activity.

Baking kid birthday cakes with your child is an activity that's full of fun, rewards and don't tell this to your child but -- they just might learn a thing or two. But that's going to be our secret -- Shhhh!

Imagine the setting

If your child is old enough, they'll really love helping you bake their birthday cake. Kids are naturally creative and making something with their own hands brings a couple of excellent benefits.

  • You get to spend some fun, quality time with your child
  • Your child gets to help put their birthday party together
  • Your child will learn a little about food preparation
  • They'll learn about kitchen safety
  • Your child will discover that cooking can be fun and creative
  • They'll be learning skills they can use in life
  • Your child won't be watching TV or playing video games
  • And your kid birthday cakes will be something that both you and your child can be proud of.

When baking with children you'll want to remember a few things.

  • You'll want to teach them about kitchen safety
  • Teach your child about how to use kitchen appliances, knives, and other utensils
  • Teach your child about the ingredients used to bake a cake
  • And of course you'll want to teach your child how to properly clean up in the kitchen -- and why! (food preparation - germs and all like that).

    Remember to keep things simple

You don't want your child to get discouraged because the recipe is too complicated.

Let your child really get into it

Remember how you liked to put your hands in cookie dough when you were a child? Give your kids the same experience. It's OK for them to have dough and powder all over themselves. That's what water and soap are for!

    Don't rush

Do your activity when you have the time. Rushing so you can make another appointment will just cause frustration. Remember, your child is learning, so they will probably be a lot slower at things. Take your time and ENJOY your time together.

    Praise your child's accomplishments

When your child mixes the ingredients, tell them they did a good job. When they clean up a utensil, tell them they did a good job.

Make your child feel good about the process and they'll want to do it again.

You'll be making wonderful memories with your child and they'll love spending special time with you.

Now your ready to have a fun activity with your child.

Talk to them about what kind of cake they'd like to make. Keep it simple. If they want to start with something that's too complicated, let them know that you can both work together and "work your way up to that cake."

Maybe that can be a goal for both of you.

    Have fun
