Get Ready For Party Fun

5 Secret Weapons

Sssh! Don't tell the kids, but you're going to learn how to use "5 secret weapons" that will have all your party guests begging to play even ordinary games - sneaky huh?

Secret weapon number 1 - Exciting Titles

Would your child rather play Message Relay or "Super Crazy Mixed UP Message Relay?"

The second title sounds exciting doesn't it?

And what about adding the word "amazing" to the simple game of Simon Sez?

Your child and all their party guests are going to get excited anytime you tell them they're going to play an Amazing game of anything - even a card game.

Imagine these SUPERCHARGED game titles

Wild and Wacky Balloon Race

Divide your party guests into two teams.

Have one player from each team put a balloon between their knees.

When you say go, start your theme music and both players try and get to the finish line without dropping or popping their balloon.

If a balloon pops or they drop the balloon, that player has to start over with a new balloon.

Everyone on each team must repeat the action.

The team that finishes first wins.

The Incredible Simon Sez

Choose one person to lead (start with your birthday child)

No one does anything unless "Simon Sez."

The leader might say "Simon Sez, lift your right foot up" then everyone should lift their right foot up. If your leader says "Simon Sez turn around, then everyone should turn around.

But if the leader just says "turn around" anyone that does is out - because "Simon" didn't say to turn around.

Super Crazy Mixed Up Message Relay

A game idea that will have then laughing!

Have all your guests sit in a circle. Have your birthday child think of a silly phrase or sentence related to your party theme.

Your birthday child whispers the message to the child on their right. That party guest whispers the message to the child on their right until the message goes all the way around to the person sitting just to the left of your birthday child.

That child then repeats the message out loud...

The birthday child then tells everyone the original message. Everyone then gets a turn to come up with their own message.

The more the message gets mixed up, the more fun it is.

Amazing Musical Statues

They'll have lots of fun and they'll even be still for a short while.

Have all your party guests move to the center of the room. Start playing some music related to your theme.

Have your guests start moving and dancing around. Then stop the music and have all the party guests freeze like statues. Anyone who moves is out.

Start the music again and have your party guests start dancing and moving again until the music stops. Have them freeze like a statue again.

Keep repeating this until only one person is left. The last remaining party guest is the winner.

Ultra Quick Change Artist

Give each child a bag that contains a big shirt, big pants, big socks and a big knit or floppy hat.

Start your party theme music and say "ready - set - go!"

Each player starts putting the baggy clothes over their own clothes.

The first one to put on all the cloths from the bag wins.

Oh Wow Pass The Hat

A "no hands allowed" favorite.

Line up your players in two teams. The object is to pass a hat from player to player without dropping the hat.

If the hat drops, the team must start over at the beginning of the line. The first team to pass the hat all the way to the end wins.

Raiders of the Lost Mummy

Divide your guests into two teams... Have each team choose a player to be "the Mummy".

Then give each team three rolls of toilet paper... Start your theme music and see which team can wrap up their mummy from head to toe first.

To make things more fun, you might want to give them a two minute time limit. A great kid party idea that's lots of fun.

Now that you see how it works, you can think of a lot more fun titles.

Secret weapon number 2 - Theme Related Titles

You'll enjoy supercharging your games by making them fit your party theme. One of the easiest is to simply change Simon Sez to "Princess Sez" for a princess party, "Sergeant (birthday child's name) Sez" for an army theme, or "Barbie Sez" for your Barbie theme.

There are lots of other games you can change this way including Pin the Tail on the Donkey, which can easily be changed to "Pin the Parrot on the Pirate" or "Pin the Tiara on the Princess."

Secret weapon number 3 - Music

Are you having a theme party? Just pick up a music CD of the movie or TV show soundtrack.

When you start your games, play your music too. This way your guests will get right into your fun theme.

Even if your theme doesn't have a soundtrack, you can pick up an up beat music CD to play.

Think about using up beat Big Band music like Benny Goodman - that's right. You'll be surprised at how much your party guests will enjoy the up beat, happy sounds of Big Band music when their playing games.

Secret weapon number 4 - Your Enthusiasm

When your guests arrive at your party, they have only one thing on their mind - having FUN with a capital F-U-N.

So how do you get them excited and keep them excited?

By using secret weapon number 4 - enthusiasm! Have you ever noticed that some things you do in life just seem to spread?

Smiles are contagious in a fun way, a yawn is contagious in a weird way, and enthusiasm will spread like wild fire.

As a host you can be nice, sort of friendly and so-so.

Or you can be totally contagious with fun by being enthusiastic. And since you want your birthday child to have a totally fun party - you need to get pumped up and spread fun all over the place.
