Shark Tale Birthday Party Idea

Shark Tale birthday party idea based on the popular movie starring Will Smith as Oscar the Fish.

Catch an ocean full of fun

Before we get started, look at these Shark Tales Party Supplies for even more party fun.

Shark Tale Birthday Party Idea - Invitations

A creative shark tale party invitation.

Ever try writing a birthday party invitation on a great white shark?

Using white construction paper, cut the profile of a shark. (include an open mouth and teeth).

Then take a square piece of paper, write something like this...

"Use your imagination and dive with us to a fantastic reef under the sea where Oscar the Fish lives and needs your help celebrating (birthday child's first and last name)'s birthday."

"Oscar is decorating his penthouse pad at the top of the reef with birthday party balloons and streamers. And Oscar's going to be playing some of his favorite undersea "Hip Hop" music to welcome all his friends to this wonderful Shark Tale birthday party theme celebration."

"Shark Alert! Be careful when entering Oscar's reef... You never know when Don Lino, the great white shark will be swimming by."

"Our Shark Tale birthday party starts bubbling with fun on (date)."

"Oscar's Shark Tale Reef penthouse is located at (address)"

"Oscar's reef dive starts at (time)and we will come back to the surface at (time)."

"Our Shark Tale birthday party for (birthday child's name) will actually take place on dry land, but in all our imaginations, we'll be having fun in Oscar's underwater world.."

"RSVP to Angie the Angel Fish by (date) at (phone number)"

Now fold the invitation paper and attach it to the shark cut out you made before. You can now mail out your creative invitations to your guest list.

Shark Tale Birthday Party Idea - Decorations

Your Shark Tale birthday party theme is underwater, so you want to create an underwater fantasy...

Use dark blue, light blue and white balloons for water. You can actually cover your ceiling with your balloons...

And don't forget to put balloons on your mail box and front door so your guests will start getting into your Shark Tale birthday party theme mood right away.

Use Red, pink, coral, purple for the reef.

Try hanging cardboard or craft paper fish cut outs from your ceiling using white string... And don't forget to have at least one shark.

*A Tip From Grandpa Mike

For an extra special underwater effect that everyone will love, pick up a bubble machine! Your guests will really get into your Shark Tale birthday party theme.

Shark Tale Birthday Party Idea - "Go Fish"

Pick up a deck of Go Fish cards and set up a corner where your guests can play this classic game.

Shark Tale Birthday Party Idea - Coloring Book

Take the pages out of a Shark Tale coloring book and pick up several small boxes of crayons... Let your party guests color a scene from Shark Tale.

Bubbles

Kids love blowing bubbles and this is the perfect birthday party theme for filling the room with glorious bubbles... Pick up some bottles of bubbles and let your guests have a ball...

Guess How Many

A classic game that fits your Shark Tale birthday party theme perfectly.

Fill a small goldfish bowl with sharks teeth (candy corn is perfect). Take a piece of paper and write down your party guests names... As your guests arrive, have then guess how many shark's teeth are in the fish bowl. Then write down their guess beside their name.

*A Tip From Grandma Mary

Put the piece of paper with all their guesses on it someplace where you can find it later... And don't forget to actually count the "sharks teeth" as you put then in the bowl...

When the party is coming to an end, check the list and the one who's guess came the closest to the actual number wins all the sharks teeth.

Shark Tale Birthday Party Ideas - Food

In keeping with your Shark Tales birthday party theme, have your party guests create and decorate their own small fishing tackle boxes... Any small cardboard box will do. Let your guest cut out paper sharks or star fish, or sea shells and put their name on their box.

Then let each party guest go to your "bait" store and fill their tackle box with snacks.

Shark Tale birthday party Idea - foods

Peanut Butter and Jelly Fish Sandwiches

Life Saver Candies

Gummy Sharks

Angie the Angel Fish Food Cake

Shark Tale Birthday Party Idea - Drinks

Shark Punch

Freeze some Gummy Sharks with punch in an ice cube tray overnight. Then put the shark ice cubes in a bowl of punch and serve.

Shark Tale Birthday Party Idea - Games

Blow up a balloon, then draw a shark's face with big teeth on the balloon... Have your party guests sit in a circle and hit the balloon back and forth while you play your party theme music... Stop the music and whoever is touching the shark balloon has been "shark Attacked" and is out... The last player remaining is the winner.

Crazy Blow Fish

Have your guests sit in a circle and give each one two or three balloons... When you say go, tell your guests to blow up their balloon, then let it go flying around the room like a crazy blow fish.

*A Tip From Grandpa Mike

Tell your guests not to get up and go after their balloons, just let them fly. Then blow up the next ones and do the same thing... This will keep everyone from chasing after their balloon or picking up a balloon that might not be theirs and blowing into it...

Shark Tale Birthday Party Idea - Activity

Have your party guests make a Jelly Fish using a white paper plate, colored yarn for tentacles and a string on top to hold the completed Jelly Fish... Your guests can make their Jelly Fish swim by holding the string and floating their Jelly Fish around the room.

Shark Tale Birthday Party Idea - DJ

Oscar the Fish loves Hip Hop, so let your birthday child be the DJ and play some Shark Tale Hip Hop for their party guests.
