Fun Thanksgiving Decoration

You can create a wonderful setting

Thanksgiving decoration ideas that will help make your Thanksgiving a memorable time for everyone.

Imagine a place that looks so inviting, with fall colors and decorations that make your gathering feel warm and wonderful.

Yes, this is the time of year when we stop to think about our lives, our families and friends - when we look forward to that yummy turkey, ham or chicken dinner.

Fall, Pilgrims - And Turkey

Thanksgiving is a special time of the year filled with the bright colors of fall, a time when children learn about the Pilgrims, the first Thanksgiving, and dream of their favorite Thanksgiving treats.

And you start thinking about your family gathering, pulling out those special recipes and decorating your home for the holidays.

Thanksgiving Decoration

Think Autumn

Think Pilgrims

Think Turkey, or Ham, or Chicken (oh, the glorious food)

Because decorating your home for the holidays starts with Thanksgiving, you'll want to use Fall colors like browns, orange, yellow, gold, dark greens and greys.

A Turkey centerpiece or a horn-of-plenty always makes a great table centerpiece. You can also cut leaves out of colored paper to scatter around your table and living room.

This year, our family placed a "Thanksgiving Bowl" on a counter near our living room. Next to the bowl is a supply of light brown colored paper and dark brown pencils.

Family and visitors can take a moment to write down what they're thankful for and add their thanks to the contents of our Thanksgiving Bowl.

Remembering Thanksgivings Past

Your Thanksgiving decoration can include a display of pictures from past gatherings of family and friends.

You can display your picture decorations in wooden frames, or place them between or around other decorations. That way, everyone will stop to look at the pictures and take a moment to enjoy the decorations too.

Your children can have fun writing down their memories of past Thanksgiving celebrations on light brown paper and displaying them along with your pictures too - remember when dad spilled the gravy - or when mom dropped the turkey on the floor?

Creative Thanksgiving Decoration

Your holiday will be so much more meaningful and fun when you put together creative ideas for really making your home into a special holiday place.

For inspiration you can visit a local hotel lobby, or look at store display windows. Disneyland has some of the most wonderful holiday window displays on planet earth. And looking at any of these displays will give you ideas for your decorations.

Yes, you can create a wonderful setting for your Thanksgiving, and have a lot of fun putting it together.

And remember to take lots of pictures so you'll have more photos to display next year.

Take a look at these Thanksgiving Decorations for the best party ever.

Have Thanksgiving FUN
